Now if I spend any cash before a game on anything it goes against my team value right. Then if persay One guy gets say 30k for inducements, now if he decides he wants to spend 20K to up himself for a card, wouldnt he really have to spend then 40k? Because his TV would go up 2 points closer for spending 20k, he then should only get 10k for inducements right? So he then would have to spend double the amount to get his card he so wanted. 200 tv team vs 197 tv team, so if the latter spends 20k his TR then would go to 199? So then he only really gets 10k in the end if he wanted to spend his own cash.
Maybe I missed something in the PBBL rule book.

If one player gets 30K in inducements and wants to induce a card he'll need to move 50K from his treasury to purchase the card, which will make him the Overdog by 20K.

This is because the amount you get for Inducements is calculated after you move cash.

Okay, so purchasing a card is prior to the game, also before there is any totalling of tv for inducements. Makes sense, thanks.

No the purchase of the card isn't prior to the game.

Here's the steps for your example. It's easier for me that way.

Teams arrange to play the match. Both coaches look at the gap (say TV103 vs TV100 for example), underdog notices that he's the underdog by 30K. Decides that he wants a card.
Pre-Match sequence:
1. Weather
2. Transfer Gold - If the Underdog wants to get a card he has to move the full 50K, this is because if he transfers 20K then in step 3 he will be a TV 102 team vs a TV103 team (which is 10K of inducements). So instead he needs to transfer the full 50K. Which makes him a TV105 Team vs TV103. He's no longer the underdog, he's now the overdog.
3. Purchase Inducements, the ex-underdog purchases his card. The ex-overdog is now the underdog by 20K. But this is not enough to purchase anything.

The other way this works happened in a recent match I played. I transfered 50K to purchase a wizard (Dungeon Bowl Holder) and my opponent then transfered 150K for a wizard as well. Which made him the Overdog by 40K. In this situation I was able to use 40K of inducements plus 10K cash to purchase my wizard as I was now the underdog.

In essence if you're the underdog then any petty cash you move will reduce your Inducements by the same amount you transfer. So if you're a 100K Underdog then anything up to 100K doesn't help you get more valuable inducements.

Snatching this thread for a question of mine, just to see if i understood correctly:

If both players have the same TV and one decides to move 150k to petty cash to purchase a wizard, the other player would get 150k inducements and thus a wizard for free?

Yep, that's the way it is.

That is exactly it!! So why waste money on stuff like that, when the other coach will just get it for free, and you have wasted 150k for nothing really.

It does - but its a consequence of cash not counting towards your TV so the underdog/overdog calculation is artifical if someone decides to use cash.

Basically you can save up to freeboot Morg without penalty - but the one game you use him in your opponent gets inducements to compensate.
