Perfect Kick special play card

The description of the perfect Kick special play card says to put the ball either in the EZ or next to the LoS. Then use the Throw-in template and roll 3 times (as if scattering). The throw-in template has to face one of the sidelines or the EZ.
So if the coach choses to drop the ball in the EZ, the only option for the Throw-in template is towards the sidelines, hence there is a 1/3 chance of a touchback on the first roll, then potentially 1/3 chance of a touchback on the subsequent rolls.
Did I get this right?
Seems odd that for a perfect kick in the EZ, I have a significant chance of a touchback.
