if this is rolled on the kick off result, can you roll for the same player more then once if he is randomly selected more then once? or do you just ignore the result and slect another player instead?

Code: Select all

Throw a Rock: An enraged fan hurls a large rock at
one of the players on the opposing team. Each
coach rolls a D6 and adds their FAME (see page
18) to the roll. The fans of the team that rolls higher
are the ones that threw the rock. In the case of a tie
a rock is thrown at each team! Decide randomly
which player in the other team was hit (only players
on the pitch are eligible) and roll for the effects of
the injury straight away. No Armour roll is required.
I'm confused. At most only one rock per side is thrown. Only one player on a side can get hit.

Ah, that explains it. Sorry, I can't help you then, my brain can only hold one ruleset at once.

I'm sure there are some old timers around that can help you though

In LRB4, 'Throw a Rock' only affects one player (or one player from each team), so why are you selecting multiple players?

Geoff.

the person who rolled it used this chart he said was from lrb4, it said to randomly select d3 players to be affected and take an instant injury role for each player. i only have lrb5 rules but my leauge are using lrb4 so i have to borrow other players copy's of the rules when we play

Thats a lot of rocks, I would speak to the grounds crew. Or at least figure out where the person you were playing got their kickoff table from.

A couple of things:

1) You can find a copy of LRB 4 here.

2) Your friend misread something. In both LRB 4 and LRB 5 only one rock can ever be thrown per side.

That's LRB 1.3.

Let me go dig that one up. Okay got it.
http://www.midgardbb.com/LRB_PBBL/LivingRulebook1.3.pdf

Text from that book was:
Throw a Rock: Each coach rolls two dice and
adds their team’s fan factor to the score; the
high scorer’s fans are the ones that threw the
rock. A tie means that both teams are affected.
Decide randomly which player in the other team
was hit (only players on the field are eligible)
and roll for the effects of the injury straight
away. No Armour roll is required.
Still only one player effected

maybe it's pitch invasion...didn't it used to injure a random number of players (instead of a roll for each player)? But that was 1d6 players IIRC.

Correct ... it was D6 random players for Pitch Invasion.

In that case, if a player is randomly selected more than once you select again. If you use the chits it's impossible to have the same player selected twice as long as you don't replace the chits after each pull. If you use another method, just keep rolling or whatever it is you're doing till you have that number of players hit/injured/dead/you-know-what-I-mean.

it was definatly throw rocks. i checked the rules today, it came on an A4 card template from the box set, but im not sure what edition. and it had kickoff results, weather results and block dice results on it.the throw rocks result did not require NOT d3 players as i was told beforehand when the result came up. thnx guys for helping me clear that up, if you hadnt have told me actual rules i wouldnt have chased it up.

but it still doesnt define if the player should be on the pitch or not to be affected, i say it should be on the pitch but my oponent disagrees
