Positions or Caracteristics skills&Traits

Post by Longshot »

Would you prefer Positision skills and traits like in 2nd Ed (Thrower skills/Trait , Catcher/runner skills/Traits, blocker, blitzers, special,Mutation would stands as it is of course) ?
Or do you prefer the way it stands with carateristic skills and Traits (General,Agility,Strengh...) ?

Why would you want to go back to something like that? The only thing it would accomplish is make all the teams look the same. Right now, only elf throwers have access to agility, and that's cool. Only dwarf and chaos linemen have access to strength, which is perfect as well. And elves don't have any access to strength, brillant.

I'd hate to see what you propose because then all blitzers would look the same, independant of race, and that'd be just plain boring.

you hate....
This is not a proposal.
This is a poll, just to know what people think about it.
I never proposed to go back.
So, please, be less agressive. (there is not only your opinion that is important here)
Thx.

Strength,...
cos where are the specificity of race if the skill access is only determined by position ?

It's very good the way it is right now ! But, I must admit, I wasn't around when 2nd edition was on...

A poll is to get people's oppinions. I gave you mine, and added my reasons. If you're gonna ask something, don't be scared of the response.

the only thing that bugs me about the current system is that dwarven runners have access to passing skills. That's about the lamest thing I've ever seen. They should only have general skill access. I know dwarfs are supposed to be the original blood bowl players, but their team seems a little too strong to me.

I've got no problem with it, dwarves are a strong roster but not dominant.
Passing skills are all very well but tend to be less valuable with no genuine recievers and AG access only on doubles. (Go ahead, give that Longbeard Catch..oooh..scary! ).

Any player that picks up 2 increases of the same stat should cause problems...we have a MA9 human Blitzer..he's fun... and the scary ST5 Delf Blitzer... :o

the passing skills for dwarven runners give them a slight connection to the former edition (Yes, Dwarven once had official Throwers).

It's okay for me and as told already, every player with two stat increases is in his own kind very special (like a gobbo with STR 4)

The Wood Elves team in the league has two AG5 Wardancers. First skill on both of them, too...

I'm the only one who's only gotten one stat increase. +1 MA on a freakin' 'zon Blitzer. Dwarves've gotten tons of AG increases, Lizardmen have TWO S5 Sauruses...the aforementioned Wardancers...it's crazy for the poor 6337 'zons.

Leaves those little legs alone, Dont you forget that in the Ligue of the Border (not sure of the translation) they were only dwarves teams...
And the tactic the more often played was PASS...
