Goblin Ball and Chain

Post by Urb »

I noticed that most of the secret weap guys do not gain spps from causing injury but it doesn't say this about the fanatic. I realize he throws blocks when he enters an occupied square. Do you gain spps from injury caused from those blocks? It also stated the prone players, stunned or otherwise get pushed back and you make an armour and if broken a inury roll. Do these count towards spps?

Good questions, I guess the blocking casualties count and the others don't but I'm curious what the certified rules lawyers would say.

My understanding is that any CAS caused by the block dice does count for SPPs, but I had never really thought about those caused by smooshing an already prone player; I've never caused any in that way. However, I'm not sure that they should, as no Block dice are involved, i.e. there is no risk to the ball and chainer, so no reward.

edit: so basically exactly what Duke Jan said, but in a more long-winded way

I would say no on the prone players. But all Blocks give SPP when causing a CAS. So when the player is getting blocked by the fanatic, who ever goes down as a CAS gives up SPP to the standing fellow. And if your like me, that means giving your opponent play free SPPs when those triple skulls come up.

No to prone players as no block is made.

Yes to normal use of the B&C throwing a block.

But you don't get SPPs if the fanatic blocks and gets a casualty on one of your own players.

Correct, because players on your own team aren't opposing players. You only get SPPs when you cas an opposing player.
Casualties (CAS): If a player causes an opposing player to be
removed as a Casualty then they earn 2 Star Player points. (snip)

the only chance for a hidden weapon is with the MVP Award... or block the normal way, you musn´t use weapons like the dagger or chainsaw if I remember (although Ball and Chain... well, I hope you throw good dices ^^)

Bringing up a very old thread for a question we had today. The Fanatic Invasion Card was played. The Fanatic ended up skulling out on a block against the active player and that player rolled a 10 for injury. Normally I'd say that this player would not get SPP if the fanatic was on their team and used during their turn. I think that in this situation that they would not get any SPP for the casualty either, but the card has you use the fanatic after your turn is completed and it really isnt a friendly or opposing player. We did not give out the casualty, but I said I'd see what the opinion was on here and adjust it if I was not correct. Any thoughts? =)

I think you are incorrect, you can get comp SPP's if you threw an accurate pass (with the ball) which is caught as normal, remember chainsaw and bombers now have hands....

Bit of a long shot but if you've got an MVP on that player it may be worth it.......

Also you cannot throw a 'normal block' with a chainsaw player. The rule for Chainsaw states that he MUST use the chainsaw!

Though he does get the SPP if someone throws a Block at him, skulls out, and are a Cas.

Golden Rule
If you get a CAS when Blocking Dice are thrown, you get SPP's
EXCEPT when a player has a chainsaw
excerpt last sentence of chainsaw:
"Casualties caused by a chainsaw player do not count for star player points"
yes it is a pain in the ass trying to skill him up. Get that MVP and then try all next game to get a pass (I love Goblins)

Chainsaw, Stab, ball and chain ground push, landing on someone, eating someone, side out, foul, bombs, etc do not earn SPP's

Play a league where you all use stunties and EVERYTHING gets SPPs - gives some very interesting games. Everyone kicking one another, trolls getting comps for succesfull TTM ( or my favourite - SPPs for eating goblin or making him land on his head!!!)

just don't expect your team to last long!!!
