Throw ins in the corner

Just a quicky.
How do you resolve a throw in when the ball bounces out diagonally from one of the corners?
Seems like it should come on along the converse diagonal, but just thought I'd check.

I'd vote for starting the throw-in process from the corner square as there's really no other option in the corners. If it leaves the pitch again under normal throw-in rules, just keep going with the process until it stays on.

Our house rule, and it seems to be a common one, is to start from the corner and put the statter at 45deg. So for the bottom left corner, 1-2 = along the side, 3-4 = diagonally in, 5-6 = along the EZ.

I'm playing BB for quite some years, and something like this never happened to us.
For simplicities sake, I would make a 50/50 roll to decide wheter the throw in happens from the sidelines or from the touchdown line.

It nearly came up in a game the other day. I was in an awkward position with one St3 ball carrier player isolated in backfield, facing 1 St4 player, who was prone one square away from the corner diagonally. A thought occured, if I placed my guy in the corner, the only likely result was a stand up blitz against me which would lead to the player (and ball) going off diagonally from the corner, and if the only way it could be thrown in was conversly, an average-to-long throw in would put it in seveal of my teams's tackle zones. However, I wasn't sure of the ruling, so I didn't try it.
Any other ideas?

it's happened 2-3 times in our tabletop league in the past and we've played it this way as well when it happened.

That's what I'd do.

It's a tidy solution - and therefore not very BB at all

- but it's the one I'd use.

Agree with abover 1-2 straight down TD line, 3-4 diagnal, 5-6 straight down side of pitch.

Actually, if you place te proper template diagonally over the corner, this is exactly the result.

Slightly more interesting is what to do if it goes out non-diagonally from a corner square. If it goes over the end-line in the bottom right corner, then obviously 1-2 = diagonally left, 3-4 = up the side line, but what about 5-6? Re-roll? Pretend the ball is now over the sideline? Some troll in the crowd eats it and the ref awards a toucback? I dunno. That one hasn't happened to me yet.

That one has happened to me once or twice. Just let it be thrown in again.

Nippy, just treat is as described by most (1-2 End Zone, 3-4 diagonally infield, 5-6 long edge). By the way, the action you describe is known as "Self Surf-ice" (a pun on the term Self Service, combined with Crowd Surf

)
