A question has come about in our league from a dwarf coach who wants win games with just two troll slayers.

His question is, can you combine the dauntless trait and the mutiple block skill? :-?

For instance, could he block 3 human lineman and then need to roll over nine to get one dice (two with an assist) block. :-?

Please help!!!!!

Are you sure? I disagree, as Dauntless is used when an opponent's strength is higher. In the above case, the opponent's strength is 3 plus he has friends too.

As a dwarf player, I have never tried to pull this one, but I have allowed others to do this to me. I'm nice that way!

I believe this was covered in an older forum. I think if i remember correctly u can use it on 1 person but yes. In other words it wont help with 3 humans (unless your st 2 or less) but will help if u want to hit an ogre and a human.

In your above reply Norse, you said because the players were weaker than the dwarfs, fair enough but what if it was two chaos warriors, they are both ST 4.

I think it should be allowe, although it is a little worrying, but if he trie it, and fails, 3 dice I pick.

Yes you can combine Dauntless and Multiple Block.

HOWEVER, please note that the Multiple Block skill can now only be used against two adjacent players per the LRB 1.3 ... not three.

So yes if a Troll Slayers Multiple Blocks two Human Lineman he can make a Dauntless roll to beat ST 6 for a 1 dice block.

Which makes a mutliblock, dauntless, Beastman (Horns) a lovely addition to a Chaos team, (dang it doubles, where are you?!)

Though with all the mutations available to Chaos teams, dauntless is a little less appealing

On and Off switch on Multiple Block?????

Using skills you are allowed to elect to not use it if you have it correct????

Example:

The Other Team:
Has an Ogre and another assisting player standing in front of your player with MB and Daunt...

Your Team:
Has Three players, one having MB and Daunt, you elect to Use Dauntless by it self, against the Ogre... if you roll successifully on Daunt Roll you will have 2 Block Dice against the Ogre...
Now what is easier to beat, is the ST 5, instead of using Multiple Block against the Two Model's ST added together.. which would be ST 8...

This is allowed Correct?????

Yes you don't have to use muliple block if you don't want to. This goes the same with most skills apart from maybe frenzy (might be some more). Of course a lot of other skills are more preferable to use them than not, like using pass to reroll a fumbled pass, this doesn't mean you to reroll that pass but i think most players would ;]

Probably the best example is choosing not to use Dodge if you're in danger of a crowd visit due to Frenzy.

What a nice idea - I'll have to add that to my list of annoying tactics!

The problem being is that Sod's Law dictates such tactics inevitably result in at least a BH anyway! :D

You don't have to use block on the "both down" if you don't want to?

Anyone ever found a reason not to?
