MBBL "diving catch": +1 on catch rolls also on han

From the MBBL-rules for diving catch (NOT LRB 5):
"The player may add 1 to any catch roll
from an accurate pass targeted to his square."
Does this also apply when catching hand-offs ?
I think it should, for hand-offs count as accurate when being caught. In addition, only then the skill makes sense for AG 3 teams (otherwise you only have another elf skill / NOS-substitution....)

It is supposed to work for passes only.
And I don't think it is an elfy skill.
I think it is a great skill for AG3 teams.
With accurate on your thrower and DC on your catcher, you'll be at 2+ for both rolls.
Cheers

Per LRB 5.0 (no idea if this is consistent with what rules you have, but I still want to post the correct ruleset here)
A hand-off is where the ball is simply handed to another player, friend or foe, in an adjacent square. The Hand-Off Action is added to the list of Actions like Move, Block, Blitz and Pass
...
No dice roll is required to see if the player attempting the handoff is successful – it automatically hits the targeted player. However, the player that the ball is handed off to must roll to see if they catch the ball (see Catching the Ball on page 13). Use these modifiers for the Catch roll:
Catching a hand-off ..................................... +1
A Hand-off is a separate action. Skills that mention pass or passing or passed would not apply to a hand-off. A skill has to specifically mention hand-off to apply, like catch.
A hand-off is not considered accurate. It automatically hits the target, who gets +1 to catch. Yes, I know that seems like semantics, but accurate is a game term, and since it isn't mentioned it doesn't apply. Accurate is a pass term, and as mentioned a hand-off is not a 1 square accurate pass.
Edit to correct one usage of pass to hand-off

But why would you be using diving catch on a hand off? The hand off has to be to the square that the player is occupying, so why would they dive for it?

What he said ... nothing more to add here.

Of course. If memory serves, in LRB 4 a hand off was an accurate pass for the purposes of catching, but under LRB 5 it isn't. It just gets a +1 for being a hand off.
Never picked that change up before.

The big reason hand offs are excluded is that one of the purposes of the change (at least for me) is to provide a gentle encourage to the AG3 teams to pass the ball. Making hand offs more reliable would really just help the bash teams move the ball quicker and not encourage much more throwing.
