Blitzing nothing
Do you have to make a block during the blitz action or can you waste the blitz to move (Wild animal)??????????

For that matter:
You don't have to pass on a Pass Action.
You don't have to hand-off in a Hand-Off Action.
You don't have to move in a Move Action.
etc...
Of course, even if you don't actually roll the dice, if you declare a one a round action, it's gone.

You may not score a touchdown if you leave the pitch.
So if said Mino is hitting some-one in the crowd and getting hurt himself, then no.

This seems a bit 'gamey' to me y'know, even if the rules don't prohibit it...fire olli wrote:Do you have to make a block during the blitz action or can you waste the blitz to move (Wild animal)??????????
Would it not be easy to say that a Wild Animal must attempt to make a block during a blitz action. A simple additional stipulation that would solve this quite elegantly IMO.
Has this been looked at by the rules committee?

Yes, at the same time as when WA got the +2 to WA for fouling, and they were trying to find a wording to make it so the WA had to foul if you declared it..Pippy wrote:Has this been looked at by the rules committee?
It was decided it was to complicated, and to unfair (say you burn a reroll on making a dodge, why force you to carry on the action if you decide it's to risky?)
Oh, and I disagree it's gamey. If my opponent wants to waste his turns blitz to move the WA, that's fine by me.

It could work like Bloodlust. If the WA doesn't get to block anything, he goes off to find somebody to beat up in the crowd.
But really, you mostly do this only in situations when you really have to move that Wild Animal, and those situations are rare enough. It's just an elegant way to use the rules to win.

It happened to me at Toy Soldier this year. My Mino got the ball and then the other player moved all there players down the other end of the pitch. I didn't waste my blitz because i wasn't sure if you could or not so my Mino just had to stand there for a few turns until the end of the half.

i'd have let you burn the Blitz and move the Mino. There's nothing in the rules that says the opponent has to stick around and get mauled but neither does it say you can't blitz thin airfire olli wrote:It happened to me at Toy Soldier this year. It is always acceptable to declare a blitz and not throw a block. It's not usually very smart, but it is completely legal and sporting in the world of Blood Bowl.
If a league commisioner didn't like it, I would think long and hard about changing Wild Animal. It is a niche situation, and the rule works perfectly almost always... How many times does a Wild Animal use a blitz action as a move action in your leagues? IF he gets to blitz, he throws the block!

Re: Blitzing nothing
So it's technically legal to declare Foul on Wild Animal and it will only be a 2+ and then decide you don't want to Foul and then just move him somewhere else? Doing it this way would use up the teams Foul for the turn but sometimes you don't want to foul anyway. Looks like a loophole that could be exploited.Darkson wrote:Yes, at the same time as when WA got the +2 to WA for fouling, and they were trying to find a wording to make it so the WA had to foul if you declared it..Pippy wrote:Has this been looked at by the rules committee?
