Hurry up offense (100K inducement card)

Post by Arngrim »

"Your team is making all of the time that it has left count, trying to mount
one last scoring drive.

Play before moving your turn marker.

You receive an immediate free turn. However, after each Action roll a
D6, on a 1 the free turn ends. This roll may not be re-rolled. Your
opponent immediately begins a free turn after your free turn is over,
and the same rules will apply for when it ends. If a TD would have
been scored during your free turn, the touchdown does not count
unless a player from your team still has the ball in the end zone at the
end of your opponent's free turn."

I have a question: since the TD does not count, does that mean that the turn is not over?

I would assume that the turn ends, but if that is the intention I would prefer a clearer wording.

Arngrim. I see your point but let me rationalize it this way.

Once a player moves into the end zone carrying the ball in the new rules, he can't move out. He has to end his action. And if a player ends his action holding the ball in the endzone, then a td is scored and the turn is ended. That is the only way to score a TD. To have ended your turn.

So having ended an action with the ball carrier in the endzone and ended the turn triggers the "would have been scored" clause.

Hence I would say you can't move any-one else aftwards.

What specific wording did you have in mind as I don't this is that unclear (at least as to the intent.)

Ah, I stand corrected. Thanks for the swift reply!

But if this had happened in a match, I believe that there might have been a bit of confusion, leafing through rulebooks and possibly even making the wrong call.

Wording.. um, I didn't have one in mind, but off the top of my head, maybe:

...If a TD would have
been scored during your free turn, the turn ends as normal but the touchdown does not count
unless a player from your team still has the ball...

I believe you can also choose to end your free turn (e.g. when you are in the endzoen) I do not believe standing in the endzone will terminate your free turn. In essence you are allowed to move players as long as you have any you have not used and your free turn has not ended.
only at the end (for whatever reason) of your free turn does your opponant get to have his free turn. A td is scored at the end of that opponants (free)turn, provided you are still standing in the endzone with the ball
