Chainsaw/stab blitz and MO

Post by irlandes »

Sorry if this is previously answered, didn't find this in the search, just a 2003 thread...

In the spanish forum we have some sort of discussion arrond the MO point cost on a blitz made by a chainsaw wielder... (here, if you know cervantes' language)
BLITZ MOVES
Once per turn a player on the moving team is allowed to make a
special Blitz move. A blitz allows the player to move and make a
block. The block may be made at any point during the move, but
costs one square of movement for the player to make
. The
player may carry on moving after the effects of the block have
been worked out if he has any squares of movement left.
Chainsaw (Extraordinary)
A player armed with a chainsaw must attack with it instead of making a
block as part of a Block or Blitz Action.(...)
some say that the block and the MO point go "together" in the blitz action (the underlined thing), so substituting the block by the "sawing" makes that this point for blitzing must NOT be used.

Any comments about this?

1. You are allowed to chainsaw whenever you could have blocked.
2. To throw a block on a Blitz action, you must first pay 1 MA. (If you had to GFI to do the block, you would roll first).
3. So, you pay the MA to be allowed to block - then choose to chainsaw instead.
