Example;

A MV 7 Blitzer moves 6 spaces and then wants to leap(costing 2 MV) into the cage, can he GFI and then make his leap roll?

yes, although I would say he would have to roll for the leap first and then the GFI

The order of the rolls are interesting. Usually I would say it dosent matter aslong as you declare first, but in this case the square you fall over in would change.

If you roll the gfi before, that would mean that you fall over before the jump if it fails.

If you roll the gfi after, that would men you fall over in the space you are jumping to.

Is there any support for either in the rules?

According to the rules it does not matter which you roll first as a failure of either GFI or Leap Knocks you Down in the target square.

This is spelled out in the FAQs.

You roll for the 1 (or 2) GFI first and then the Leap. Important for how re-rolls and Sure Feet are used.

If you fail any of the 2 (or 3) rolls you are Knocked Down in the square you were leaping to.

But in this case he has not used all of his movement until he is in the air. so surely the leap roll goes first...?

Nope ... the FAQ says the GFI rolls (if ANY are needed go first).

Think of it like a Pass Interception/Fumble and it makes perfect sense :wink:

The leap roll is the landing roll (that's why you always end up in the target square). Failing a GFI means you land on your face regardless of the landing.
