Throw Teammate

Post by emeyin »

If an Ogre (passed bonehead) wants to throw a Goblin for a Quick Pass and he rolls a 2 is that a fumble or inaccurate?

He would get +1 for a Quick Pass and -1 for Throwing a Teammate. Does that cancel each other out?

This happened today and I ruled inaccurate pass but it just didn't seem right that a Big Guy can Throw a player and as long as it's a Quick then it's a 2+ roll.

Thanks in advance.

Quick pass for an Ogre on a 2+ inaccurate (and all above)
Short pass on a 3+ inaccurate (and all above)

so he only fumbles on a 1 on a quick pass and on a 1 and 2 on the short pass (except if he has strong arm, then only on a 1)

Well its always inaccurate and the little guy has to make a landing roll too.

Generally speaking quick passes (at most 3 squares) don't give enough value to be worth the risk.

Wow, interesting. A guy in the league started doing this with his Chaos Pact team. He just lobs his Goblin onto opposing players every kickoff.

Thanks.

Well, he has to be lucky in the scatter rolls to hit with it, and the opposing player can do a lot to prevent it with placement. Halfling teams make for better throws, btw. Strong Arm on treemen means short passes at 2+

How does that work? Are they in a big clump? Why not spead out? Also you can only knock down one opponent and he must be being lucky with the gobbo - you'd expect it to get hurt quite often (more often than the target!).

I thought you could bounce knocking down players until you hit an empty square.

Nope ... it says only the 1st person hit is knocked down ... after the first person you roll the scatter until you hit an empty square or off the pitch.
If the final square he scatters into is occupied by
another player, treat the player landed on as Knocked Down and roll for
Armour (even if already Prone or Stunned), and then the player being
thrown will scatter one more square. If the thrown player would land on
another player, continue to scatter
the thrown player until he ends up in
an empty square or off the pitch (i.e. he cannot land on more than one
player).

Nah they weren't in a big clump, but he got some nice scatters and landed on a Chaos Warrior. He doesn't really know how to use the Goblin so he just uses him like a bomb. So far his Gobbo's armor hasn't been broken. :)

Tell him to the gobbo two heads.

A twoheaded gobbo is a load of fun and can go in so many directions.

Sorry, no you can not. It only adds 1 to the D6 roll not to the range thrown.

So StrongArm will give you a +1 when passing the halfling at Short range nothing else
