Side step clarification

Just checking, but side step can be used to move into a square with the ball in it (thus causing it to scatter).
This is the case whether you side step into it from a push back, or from a push back and knock down?

Nothing is mentioned about only moving to a free space, just that you cant use it if there are no open squares adjacent to the player.

Cheers!

You are correct in that the space with the ball is considered an open space.

This is the frustration of playing against a good Ogre/Snotling coach.... The way they dodge through everything, on defense he'll sidestep into the ball to "loosen it up" at the most inconvienent time....

Thanks for that
I managed to force a draw from this last night...

Wood elf war dancer knocked down a gutter runner who threw himself onto the ball in an attempt for it to scatter into the crowd and be thrown far away from any elf who might then be able to pick it up, throw it and when caught, score a game winning TD.
As it was the scatter actually went to the war dancer who promptly caught it in surprise, and having blitzed couldnt then hand off or pass, so preventing a touchdown...

Just wanted to check that we'd played it correct....

Oh, don't get me started!

My turn eight of a tie game and he can't stop the 2d Werewolf block... and the likelihood is that my surehands ghoul can pick up the ball and throw it to a waiting other were in the endzone when it pops out... at least, that's the plan.... I'm not even worried bout the first were as he's in a couple tackle zones....

Imagine his and MY surprise when the ball pops loose and right into the were's hands... and THEN he rolls that ever elusive 6!

Simply, ... priceless.... :pissed:

It happened to me too with a LRB4 Norse Blitzer. This is one bad side of Frenzy...

It's also "funny" when the scatters 10 times with multiple missed catches to finally end in the hands of one of your players who has already moved...

I'm a great proponent of being able to strip ball your own players, or being able to voluntarily miss a catch (as it is not a turnover by itself)...
