quick chaos team question(s)

Hey guys (i'm new here!)

I was wondering, because I saw in an online article that when setting up their league team for a studio campaign a guy had gnashrak blackhoof on his starting roster... is this possible to buy the player permanently?!

My other question is, I know that that special character is supposed to be a minotaur, but if you look in his stats in the LRB then he could feasibly be represented by a beastman lord? I just really love the model and all the minotaurs look really unispiring and annoying with large bases too. So if you were playing a chaos team with gnashrak blackhoof - would you let him be represented by a beastman lord?

thanks guys! (i'm relatively new to bloodbowl too btw!)

Must have been a very old article or he just used the Grashnak model for a regular minotaur. In any case, in the lrb rules (which are the current ones), star players cannot be a permanent part of your roster.

As for models, in general most think it's ok to use any model as long as it's clear what it represents (and adheres to some common sense: representing Morg 'n Thorg by a halfling mini is silly). If a beastman lord (don't know the model) is easily distuinguishable from your normal beastmen then I would have no problem with it!

thanks for the reply :)

Its a shame you cant buy a star player permanently... it'd add alot of character to your team. its was just because looking through the LRB it wasn't very clear about buying star players and the cost of grashnak was huge (like 360,000 or something) so it looked like for that kind of money you must be buying him.

But yes, the Beastman lord model is far more detailed and the one I want to get has a massive great axe he's swinging so it pretty easy to tell :)

sounds like the andy chambers article from over 10 years ago ;]

you used to be able to get 4 stars on your team sheet and they were a lot cheaper back then

times have changed somewhat
