Rolling Skills on Journeymen

Not got the rulebook with me here at work, but thought I'd ask now rather than forget to look it up later.

Darkson mentioned on another thread about hiring Journeymen if they had got a skill during the game and rolled a double for it.

I'd not considered it before, but when do you get to roll the skill for the Journeyman.

Do you roll it before you choose to hire them? So you can see if they get a double or a stat increase. Or do you have to hire them before you roll for the skill (I'd assumed the later when I first read it but as I've never seen a journyman skill up in a game not actually had to look it up).

What is the post game sequence?

The post game sequence is on page 29 of the LRB.
It's skill rolls before firing.

what about hiring though  skill roll before outlaying the cash? firing them shouldn't make any difference surely

I doubt you are gonna hire one then fire them after they roll a normal skill. Going to know if you are going to fire them before that, it is the outlay of your team cash that I was enquiring about.

I'm aware of what page the rules are on, I don't have the rulebook here though ;]

Skill rolls is the first step in the post match sequence.
It comes before everything else.
Including hiring and firing.

And I'd buy a lineman with a regular skill given the chance.
Block lineman is a good buy.

but is the players modified cost factered in to the hireing cost?

ie. would you have to pay an extra 50k to hire a journyman with a ST+?

hiring costs of players is always at their base amount, you don't have to pay for the skill, they earnt that during the game

thx for looking that up plasmoid
