Choosing to push into Stand Firm players

Sorry for the incredibly awkward thread title.

If one or more of a pushed target model's possible pushback squares contains a model with Stand Firm, can the attacker purposefully choose that square and therefore keep his target in place?

I guess that wording is somewhat awkward, too. Hopefully you'll understand me. It seems as if a SF player should be the equivalent of a prone model, but the rules do not seem to state that this is so.

Yes you can choose to 'push' into a Stand Firm player.

But remember - they have the choice whether to use SF or not. So more than likely - they'll let you push em to spoil your plans!

I'm not quite sure what you mean by that, but I'm pretty sure a prone (or even stunned) player can still be pushed back, just cos they are on the ground doesn't make them an immovable object (unlike SF).

Correct.

Hmm, let's ne clear first:

1) Among the three possible push back squares, if there are any empty squares (including a square with the ball in it) than the player must be pushed to one of these squares.

2) If all possible push back squares are occupied, you can push to any square (or even off the pitch.) It is not relevant who's player is in the square or what skills or attributes he has.

If you push a standing player, he is allowed to use Stand Firm or Side Step as normal. He is also allowed to not use them! Prone players can not use either of these skills.

If you are using Grab or Juggernaut, the skill does not apply to these secondary blocks.

yes ...
3) you may choose not to use a skill

Grab and jugger only affects the 2 melee players against each other

Thanks, I think I've got it. Not sure where I picked up the idea that secondary pushes had to target a standing player before one that is prone.

Are you not allowed to use side step? Like if you are pushed into a side stepper and the 3 normal squares are occupied, can you choose to not use side step in order to have a player in the occupied squares pushed?

You can choose to use Side Step or choose to not use it. This is not true (and annoyingly so) in the Cyanide game.

Honestly. the F-up on grab is way worse than the F up on Side Step. I can live with Side Step not being declined, but not being able to decline Grab sucks.

Off topic from original I guess. Can't you do it a a blitz though? Grab only negates side step on a blitz as opposed to moving the player where you want on a block. I wonder if Cyanide handles it correctly.
