Bull Centaur...

I've played plenty of seasons as coach of the Chaos Dwarf team and I've never quite had this dilemna come up.
What do I get a Bull Centaur for his first skill on a DOUBLES roll.
Stand Firm? Dodge? Frenzy? Catch?
The catch would be if I decided to make him a ball carrier. Pick up the ball with a Hobgoblin and hand it off to the Bull Centaur who breaks throughtthe hole that the Dwarves make. I'm not leaning toward this choice, it's just intriguing to me.
I'm hesitant to give him Frenzy without Block, but he could be a really nasty player when he gets his next skill.
Dodge - I'm sure it wouldn't get used as a skill very often, but it would be for keeping my BC upright for most of the game. He's always a target.
Stand Firm - Never a bad skill to take. Makes him very tough on the sidelines. And if I DO need to dodge for some reason, at least he won't fall down.

Many around here advocate break tackle for bc's, dodge would go perfect for that. Catch would be the best other choice.

I was thinking of taking dodge if i got a doubles, lets you reroll for break tackle when you get it, he is your best blitzer so making it easier to get him away from players to Bat the ball carrier the better, it also helps on the block dice should you not be around tackle players.

Dodge would be nice, to eventually make him hard to bring Down,
Catch? wtf hes AG2 forget it,your hobbos run the ball.
I would personally Go frenzy,I like to bust open cages, and for me this skill does it best.

I had the exact same dilemma, and was thinking of the same 4 options. Decided on frenzy. It really hurt me early and i even lost the semi-final because of that (forgot that he would have to follow up). However, he still picked up block in that game. In the next season, frenzy has really helped a lot so far. It makes it easy for me to create holes for my cage to move through.
I don't regret having taken that skill, but i'm pretty sure that i wouldn't have regretted any of the other options either.

My choice would definitely be dodge, but I can see the reasons for taking frenzy too. I won't start repeating the benefits of having dodge here, but IMO it's one of the best skills around. My dwarf team now has two dodges, and they have alreay helped (in three games) in approximately 8 different blocks against them (one of the teams was another dwarf team, so the number would be about 3 higher if all the teams were something else than dwarves). In addition, they have allowed a few succesfull dodges. The total effect has been tremendous.

I'd take Stand Firm - it works well with Break Tackle, and means he's a real b*gger to shift - S4 and you have to get him down.
If you don't then take dodge, which also combines well with BT and helps keep him on his feet.

Break Tackle would be nice for my money. Bulls make nice Ball carriers and this negates their major failure in that department - the inability to dodge effectively.

Even though Zy-Nox don't like the idea, I picked Catch. Next skill was Block, and he recently was graced with Break Tackle.
I know he's only AG 2, but he makes a remarkable tight end ! I'm no good with stats, but on two rolls, getting 4+ is pretty good odds to me !
You can take a look at my team Kamikaze Rudy, and I would like to see yours, if possible. I never have too much godd ideas !

I can live with that combination. Bulls are really irritating, and that's a nice group of skills. Sure Hands next?
Never forget the game where my opponent and his CDs rolled a Perfect defence against me and stacked the brunt of my attack with a pair of the damned things.

Defintiely Thadrin !
His next skill will be Sure Hands, Dodge if he gets a double.

Have you considered Sidestep? If he's going to be a ball carrier it's better than Stand Firm. Or, if your team packs a lot of rerolls and you want to do something very odd, go with Leap.

Are you high? Stand firm is 10 times better than side step for a ball carrier because it helps you dodge, but side step can be better for a blocker because you can get into a position that's even worse for the opponent.

Stand firm isn't good for dodging its a safety for failing that dodge, this is an indirect help but it does leave you in hte square you started.

Still better than falling down, droping the ball and causing a turnover!
