Can I tell them to sod off for a match?

Well, this came up last night, and we really couldn't find an answer (and neither could the search function!). Can you voluntarily make players miss matches in order to gain inducements?

The example is an Underworld team (me) on TV 1.440 against a Human team on TV 1.470. 30.000 in inducements get's me nothing, but if I could voluntarily make an unskilled goblin miss the match, I'd get 70.000 in Inducements and could hire in Bomber Dribblesnot.

So, can you ask them to sod off for a match, or do the players call the shots?

unless you league commish allow you (and the other coaches) to do so.

no, would have to be a houserule as said above

would allow far too much customisation of your roster without having to make the coaching decision to actually fire players

Yeah, technically and before the next match (actually during the post-game sequence) you have to elect whether or not to hire/fire players.... There is actually no mechanism for suspending players....

It's quite fitting with a story actually... Sod of, we need your salary to pay this guy instead! But no, we don't have that houserule, so I guess I'm going to have to get some people killed so I can bring my belowed Bomber every time.

If you want to lose a player, you can always fire one between games. Just don't expect him to be back
