I know Horkon Heartripper is based off of a Dark Elf Lineman and Jordell Freshbreeze is based off of a Wardancer, so what is Mighty Zug based off of? I wouldn't think human lineman but I could be wrong. Please help.

Human lineman is correct, he is just a big big boy. Although thats in 3rd edition or beyond, mite have been another position in earlier editions.

Ibelieve he was based on a 2nd ed Human blocker (back in the days when human and orc teams were the same in all but name). When 3rd ed came out I suppose they deceided to keep his stats and skills similar to what they've always been.
Besides, could you see him as a catcher?

For information:
We have done a house rules for human Blocker:
5 4 2 8 no skills. 0/2 per human team.
It is quite good and we keep them for the next season.

How much do they go for? and why only AV 8, they are blockers after all!

they cost 80.000 and AV8 because they are not Orcs!!!
That is a diffenrence that works well. And we will keep them like this.

I hate the idea of an extra strength human blocker. If humans can train positions that have higher strength, why don't some of the other teams? Currently, the only strength 4 players are their own races - the Saurus, Black Orc, and Chaos Warrior. This isn't WHFB, which hands out extra strength to every elite trooper.
I think, if the human race can produce some ST 4 rookies for its team, then teams like the Dark Elfs, Dwarfs, and Skaven also deserve some strong blockers. What makes them any different from humans in that regard?

I think it all comes down to game history. In 2ed humans had access to blockers, HE (well, just Elves back then), DE and Skaven didn't have Blockers.
Though I'd agrue if Humans can have blockers so should Norse, Dwarves should have throwers and Orcs should have an Orc catcher, just for History's sake.

Darkson,
Mistake me if I am wrong mate, but Norse do have throwers, & Orcs have Gobbos (i.e. catchers, I know in the old game that they had actual orc catchers, but I feel this is better option).
I am also unsure on this one as I am at work and have no rulebook, but do dwarf runners not have access to passing skills?

I would like to see dwarf blockers though!

Of course this is for 2nd Ed history.
We tryed it, we like it, and we ll keep it.
The fact is that Zug is not a lineman...he must come from somewhere: Bloker.
If you dont like it, i dont care, dont use it.
This is just a thing that we have done and wich we are satisfied with.
I could only say to the people who are interesting in, that it is good and that dont give some overpowered Humans.

Longshot,
Have you amended the quantity of how many Catchers/Blitzers are allowed, as 0-2 Blockers could mean you have 12 positional players on your team.
I do actually like the idea of human blockers, and I now agree with your AV after hearing your argument that he is not an Orc.

Yep, and how many positional players can have Orc?
I see it like this Orcs and Humans and the 2 standards team.
Less av and less Strengh average for Human
Less Mvt and less AG average for Orcs.
Try it Valen, and tell me what you think of it.
An other feedback is always welcome.

Yes, Norse have throwers. If you re-read my post you'll see I said Norse should have blockers and
DWARFS should have throwers. Also, I wasn't advocating these player positions, just pointing out that if people are going to use the agruement that "as in the 2nd ed" then all the posistions from 2ed should come into effect, hence an orc catcher rather than a gobbo on a Orc team.
