Stab

Post by Dragoonkin »

The rule says, as written:
This player may attack an opponent with his stabbing attack instead of throwing a block.
Does this mean you can Stab someone already on the ground? I don't see any limitations suggesting you can't.

Anything I say is totally opinion and (knowing my luck) probably completely wrong. Keep this in mind.

I wouldn't be certain, but I don't think so. Reason, you can't block someone who is prone or stunned on the ground.

I have certainly never seen anyone try it.

you can't declare a block action on someone who's not adjacent or standing up, therefore you can't use stab on a opponent prone, in the dugout or 7 squares away from you.

Neatly exposes the intelligence level of your average Blood Bowl player (not the coach!) - "I'm going to stab someone standing that can hit me back, but won't stab someone lying helpless on the ground".

Reason: ''
Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Actually, who's to say that he doesn't use the knife in a foul? It's the same straight armour roll (if unassisted). After all, a chainsaw is used when fouling as well.

Actually we can easily get an answer to wether or not the assassin uses his knife in a foul. What do the animation look like when he fouls in Cyanides game? :D

Well The Ref just doesnt care if you Block with a knive in the hand (Stab)

But he kinda notice if you Stab someone lying on the ground wich and sents you off maybe (Foul)

thats atleast one interpretation why you cant stab prone players ;)

Or rather why there's a risk you get sent off if you stab a prone player. Like I said before, it's the same armour roll with the same chance of success for fouls and stab.

Cause the Asssassin cant cover his Stab as a Block in the eyes of the Ref.
Going done and put a knive in a prone lying body is sadly not looking like throwing a block and there you got the risk for the sendoff ;)
