KO roll clarifier

This is just a jog my memory (as the playoffs are coming up)
(not how you play or the way it "should" be, but what the rules state please)
When play ends (TD or Half) and you are ready to set up for the next drive ....
Does the Kicking coach roll for KO then set up followed by the Offense roll/setup
or
Both roll then KT sets up followed by the offense

The rules say it best:
KO!d – Take the player off the pitch and place
him in the Dugout in the KO"d Players box. At
the next kick-off, before you set up any players,
roll for each of your players that have been
KO"d. On a roll of 1-3 he must remain in the
KO"d box and may not be used, although you
may roll again for him at the next kick-off. On a
roll of 4-6 you must return the player to the
Reserves box and can use him as normal from
now on.

so you are saying that the DEF rolls/sets before the Offense rolls/sets

No at the same time, before setup.
Since there is no decision strategy in rolling, just roll them sequentially, in any order.

before you set up any players, roll for each of your players
this says before you (not you and your opponent, you) set up, roll
yes it does make a difference as to the players you have in your reserves while your opponent sets up. "Damn he got his super star back, I better set up this way"
Remember this is Chess with Dice. Everything makes a difference.

I apologise if I was unclear.
1) drive X ends, for the sake of this process, put all your players in your reserve douggout, except the secret weapons which were on the field in the previous drive.
2) roll for bribe if you have secret weapons you want to keep on the field, if you roll a 1 take them out, if you roll 2-6 put them in the reserve
3) drive X+1 start
4) pick a player (any player) in any KO duggout, for any coach
5) roll a d6, on a 4,5 or 6 put him in the reserver
6) repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have rolled for every single player in every duggout
7) player kicking puts on the field 11 players from his reserve, or less if he doesn't have enough
8) player kicking setup his 11 or less players
9) player receiving takes 11 or less players from the reserve
10) player receiving sets up.
Is this clearer, or am I missing a subtlety somewhere?

I think the suggestion here is a possible understanding this way:
Defense roll for KO, then sets up without knowing exactly which offense players recover from KO
Offense rolls for KO, then sets up with full knowledge of who is on for Defense.
Kinda subtle, but arguement could be made.

I read before you set up any players as hard rule, not something you can argue about.
You roll before any player is setup.
edit: Ok reading it again I can see the "you" being ambiguous. I'll concede this would require clarification, and read as it is written you could ask to see the setup before rolling.
Never played it like that, so I'll be interested to read Galak's version.

What can be argued is whether the you is the singular you or the plural you.
Could be read either way, IMO.
But we had a thread about this 2 months (or so) ago.
People who thought/played it as the singular you were massively outnumbered.

I've always read the line as meaning before either coach set-ups you've rolled for ALL KO players.
And everyone I've played (at various tournaments, from different clubs) has played the same.

not that I am a rules laywer

or anything ...
My projected first opponent is not quite an a hole (A great player mind you and quite the challenge) but if you give him an inch he will take a mile. It has not come up as he did not really have any superstars until the last couple games, and I can just see him trying just what we are talking about. So I want to load my guns with "right here on page xx it states do this before you do that"
As far as the listed quote it is talking about what to do when
your player(s) is (are) KOed. (and they use
him repeatedly)
so help me look for a better clarifier.

best is to agree on the rule before you play.
Ask him before the game beggins, and if you disagree roll a die. problem sorted.

No need to roll any dice (god, I hate that idea as a way to solve a disagreement over rules). On page 15 under Restarting the match:

I never had to use this either, we're talking about an arsy opponent here.
Thanks for pointing out this page (I did a search on the word drive and found nothing associated with setup)
