Flicking through the rule book and spied that the pogoer isn't a secret weapon, why is this?

Because he wasn't good enough as one (in LRB5 nobody took him).

This came up in a game this week whilst playing against goblins, as he does not have "secret weapon" he dodges everywhere on 3+ with a re-roll, doesnt get sent off at the end of a drive and can carry the ball with 7 2 3 7 and leap + VLL as well.
Thats alot of Goblin for 70K !!

You may want to re-think that, taking the above into account
I just killed him early on to avoid any confusion

Besides the ability to leap and the +1 ma, he isn't that different from a normal goblin. And besides, he's not using any form of weapon that's illegal. You've got the looney with a chainsaw, the fanatic with his ball and chain and the bombardier with his bombs. The pogoer just has a pogo stick, i doubt that's against any blood bowl rules.

I have used the Pogoer as a very effective ball-carrier, starting with S-Feet, Sprint, Sidestep. 10 squares of movement is not to be sniffed at. The Leap is a sort of back-up way to get out of trouble.

I think brass knuckles, shoulder spikes and elbow blades look more like weapon than a stick with a spring. Does he still has DP?

so if he doesn't stab players into the ground by jumping repetitively on them with his pogo stick it is not a weapon and it's just a vehicle.
Pogostick means that you pay 30k for a Leap skill with a boost (thanks to VLL) and +1MV but you loose "Right stuff".
It's not awesome/fantastic/epic/amazing until you pick up +AG or Block or some fancy skill which would turn him into an awesome ball runner, so maybe it's just a case of taking him and recycling until you get a jackpot! skill on him

He did seem rather useless when I made my LRB5 team so I never bothered with him.
Once the draft LRB6 stuff came out I quickly picked him up and he was great. One of the best changes to LRB5 I think.
The pogoer just has a pogo stick, i doubt that's against any blood bowl rules.
I believe it was in second edition where there was talk that, 'the only weapon one should have is oneself' or something a long those lines. So yes the Pogoer is still 'cheating' but does anyone on the other team really care? It's still a goblin.

But is a pogo stick a weapon?

I think it mostly has to do with no more rolls to get caught.. the easy to get away with weapons (pogo and stabbers) are now just skills, and the ones that used to have significant chance to be caught are auto-caught now.

Long time ago every secret weapon had it's 2D difficulty roll to be send out. Pogo stick was very easy to keep for the next drive, unlike the deathroller. Nowadays it was simplified that every secret weapon is send out after a drive no matter how serious. That has put pogo stick in an disadvantage, so it lost the secret weapon mark.
