bombadiers and prone players

Guys,
tried the search function, didnt find what i wanted so heres the question (which someone will point out has been answered several times before)

If my bombadier throws a bomb which lands next to my prone player (either accurate or after scatter, doesnt matter) does my prone player take an armour roll on a 4+ ?

i didnt think he had to as the rule says; players can be hit by a bomb and treated as knocked down even if they are already prone or stunned

i took this to mean that the bomb had to land "on the player" (bombs dont bounch) and as he was prone he didnt get a chance to catch it so it explodes, my opponent (who is far more knowlegable than me!!) read it as "hit on a 4+ " as it landed in an adjacent square, if he's right and the armour fails is it a turn over? a player from the moving team has not been knocked down (as he was already prone) but has possibly been stunned or even K.Oed or become a casualty??

Ive always thought prone players where safe unless the bomb actually landed on them, in which case they make in immediate armour roll, which is why i never stood players up near the "target square" until after the Bombadier had taken his action...

Please answer using small simple words.....

I think that the key phrase would be 'treated as if knocked down or stunned'.

Sorry for the hijack:

can you throw a bomb to a player of your own team, let him catch it, , and then let HIM throw it again (since the throw is out-of-sequence) to an opponent ? Just to give goblins a chance to get the bomb where they need it ? Since they are stunty they cant pass that far.

Besides, it would make a fun action, passing along the bomb. I find it a very need goblin trick... :) but is it legal ?

@ glowworm - yes your prone player has to roll.

@Jam - legal, fun and only ever works when used against you. ;)

As others in the thread already told you, prone players are as likely to be hit by the bomb as standing ones. One more thing I'd like to point out as well in the following quote (bolded)

If the prone player of the active side is hit it is a turnover, whether or not the armour breaks. See number 1. reason for turnovers on page 3 (7) in the CRP and the rules passage you wrote yourself:

All in all, better not to throw bombs when a player of yours is near :)
