Diving Tackle and Dodge

I think I understand this correctly, but just want to double check.

Let's say my Skink with Diving Tackle is adjacent to an Wood Elf Catcher with Dodge. The WE Catcher wants to dodge away(needing a 2+) and is immediately placed in the square he is dodging to, then makes the roll. He rolls a 3 and I then decide to use Diving Tackle, placing my skink prone in the square vacated by the catcher. The catcher then decides to use the dodge skill, rolls a 2, and has successfully made his dodge.

So, essentially, once Diving Tackle is used, a reroll of the dodge die does not suffer from the -2 penalty applied to the originally rolled dodge die.

Thanks!

No it's a reroll, same modifiers same variable just reroll

Plus your skink doesn't go down until the dodge is resolved. It can make a big difference if other skills are at stake

I agree with the first part, same modifiers but the second part would suggest that if a 1 was rolled on the second Dodge then you wouldn't have to lay down which I don't think works. I think the Diving Tackler lays down to effect the -2 modifier which is then applied to the first roll and retained for the re-rolled Dodge. As far as I'm aware anyway. :)

Y'know, actually reading the wording of the skill, rather than just saying "I think", is always helpful, especially when answering a rules question.
Once the dodge is resolved but before any armour roll for
the opponent (if needed), the Diving Tackle Player is Placed Prone in the
square vacated by the dodging player but do not make an Armour or
Injury roll for the Diving Tackle player.

same mods apply...if you use DT, you will be prone, doesn't matter if the elf rolls a 1 on the 2nd roll and you wouldn't have needed to use DT on that roll--you had to use DT to force the RR in the 1st place.

Just to confuse things, say the elf rolls a 1 on the 1st roll, so you don't use DT. The the Elf RR's the dodge and now gets a 3..you can use DT now to make him fall down (and since he's already RR'd the dodge, there isn't anything he could do to prevent it).

Noted.

No you can use it on both rolls.
But you wait until the dodge roll is made before decalring if you will use it.

So using the wood elf catcher (AG4 with dodge)
If he rolls a 1 - Don't need to use DT as he fails so a re-roll is needed. If he rolls a 1 on the re-roll then falls over and you don't need to use DT, on a 4+ then he passes so DT won't work and on a 2 or 3 you can choose to use DT, go prone and cause a turnover.
If he rolls a 2 or 3 - You can choose to use DT in which case you will go prone and he will fail the dodge roll and have -2 on the re-roll
If he rolls a 4, 5 or 6 - The DT modifier won't make him fail so no point in using it and no re-roll needed
