Dwarf oneturning

Post by Hitonagashi »

I can't copy paste it here...but given the wording on page 15 of the LRB if a team can't set any players up then:

If a dwarf team clears the pitch with perms/non recovering KO's on turn 7 then scores, they immediately get another touchdown and the game ends, despite not having any player with the movement to actually one turn?

with 2 frenzy players and access to grab/guard to set up the blocks, there is probably a way to 1-turn with Dwarves, though I have never seen it done.

Fair point, the actual one turning would be trivially easy with a +mv +mv runner for example.

I was more thinking about the fact that you guarantee it by removing all your opponents players from the pitch, except because he hasn't got any players left, you couldn't possibly do it!

CRP Page 15 wrote: In the rare event that one team has no players to set up after
KO"d rolls, both teams' turn markers are moved forward along
the turn track two spaces and if one team could field at least one player then that team is awarded a touchdown (however no
player receives Star Player points (see page 25) for this. If this
takes the number of turns to 8 or more for both teams, then the
half ends.
If there are still turns left in the half, then continue
playing as if a drive has just ended (i.e. clear the pitch and roll for KO'd players).
My bold highlights your given situation and shows that yes, the dwarfs are awarded a TD and the half ends. If that was the second half, match over.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

I would not consider this to be a "one turner" in any way. Because the team has deployed at least 1 player while the opposing team deploys 0, the team with player on the field is simply *awarded* at TD. There is no need for any player to actually run the ball in, and as shown, no SPPs are awarded (you could infer that if the ball was given to a specific player to run in that SPPs might go that player).

I do not have the play diagram or the details, but one of former guys figured out how to do a dwarf one turn TD without having any +MV. And I have seen it work twice.

So I was wondering then - If two teams are playing Chaos vs Dark Elves. Chaos scorea touch down in the 7th turn of the second half to make the score 1-1 and the dark elves cannot field any players are chaos then awarded another touchdown and the game ends or does the game just end. Do you have to have at least 3 turns left to be awarded the extra touchdown or does the extra touchdown get awarded as long as there would have been one turn left in normal time before the turn counter is moved forward?

Mark the TD, then move turn markers.
