Need skills/traits advice

Post by keith_reed »

Hey guys. My orc ogre, on his first skill, just rolled double fours. What should he take? Block, dodge, stand firm? Give me some input.

Thanks

So many good choices...

Frenzy (hee, hee) or Leader

Tough choice, but if he were mine it would be one of the two above....

Pass - and buy some goblins!

Or if you don't want passing then I'd recommend either:

Frenzy - S5 makes him pretty much invulnerable to getting caught out, but until you've got Block/Pro he is a liability when blocking.

Stand Firm - can't fall over when dodging and can't get pushed out of the way on those pesky 1 or 1/2 die blocks. Actually SF is really quite good as until he has block his main task is to be a roadblock anyway.

Seriously, don't bother with dodge. You Ag is low enough already, there's no reason for your Ogre to be prancing about the field. I'd take block, just because it increases your survivability both on offense and defense.

I could see going for dodge if you plan on getting Break Tackle at some point. He'd then be a 5str who can shed tackle zones and play defense better.
