Is it possible for a BG to be half on half off the pitch?

No. They take up one square, just like every one else (except possibly Glowworm... ;) ) so if they are pushed out, they are out.

This isn't a 2nd edition question is it? The big guys took up 4 squares back in the day...

I can get the rulebook out of the loft if needed! :-)

Yep, I had thought they were 4 squares and I don't play the latest edition, but a bit of a hybrid. Where in the latest rules does it say that BG's have 1 square? Sorry, you need to be patient with me!

But seeing as nowhere in the rules does it say they take 4 squares...

So when the ball bounces you roll a D4 to see which square it bounced from? I will look on p80 so ignore this question if its covered in the FAQ section. Thanks.

Also there is no "Big Guy" concept in the latest rules all players are players. (the big guy term is used in the FAQ just for coaches like you)
Best thing to do is the read again all the rulebook and considering it as a brand new game, don't trust your memory.

In 2nd edition I think you used a d12 to scatter from a big guy.

In 3rd edition and onwards all players occupy a single square on the field.
