Quick question about the interaction between Take Root and attempting to stand back up.
If I have a treeman that has been knocked down and he attempts to stand up (via a move action), he has to roll to Take Root. What happens if he fails this roll but does not succeed in standing back up? Is he "rooted" even though is is still prone? Can he still attempt to stand in future turns? Does failing a root roll while attempting to stand negate any successful roll for standing up and trap the player on the ground?
Thanks.

Re: Taking Root and Standing Up
If he fails Take Root, he's rooted.
As he's already prone, it doesn't "release" Take Root.
He can still attempt to stand up, but he can't move any further.
Failing a Take Root doesn't stop the tree from trying to stand, just makes his MV less than 3.

Ah interesting, I was aware of the first part; but for the second...so if a Tree with a +mv fails a 'Take Root' he then goes back to having to roll a 4+ to stand as his MV would now be 0 rather than 3.Darkson wrote:If he fails Take Root, he's rooted.

Unless your treeman has Jump Up then he would have to roll the 4+ to stand up.
Reading the rules it says it is cancelled if he falls prone, not if he is prone
