Strip Ball & Side Step?

1. When a player uses the strip ball skill, the ball is scattered from the square the ball carrier is pushed to correct? Not the square he was originally standing in?

Just checking, it came up last night and we played the first choice which I believe was correct, but wanted to make sure.

2. Can a side step player choose to go to the square that the blocking player came from, should he choose to follow up?

(1) It scatters from the square the player with the ball moves to (see the description of strip ball)

(2) The follow up move is made after the player has been pushed back, so at the time you choose where to go with side step the square is still occupied (in other words you cannot go to the square of the player who blocked you).

Thank You sir...

That' how I said to play Side Step, but the rule are a little fuzzy again on this. They say ANY sqaure adjacent to the player.

The thing is nothing overrides the bit under push backs covering going to an empty square if possible. And if there is no empty square you can't use side step. It would be a very scary skill otherwise!
