Break Tackle & Dodge

Quick question on BT and dodge. If you have both (and lets just say for argument sake you happened to be a bit of a big lass) then when you move out / through a tackle zone, how does it work?

Anyone going to the STAR Championship this Sunday please just assume this is a casual enquiry and in no way tells you how I will be spending say 290 points.

You dodge as if you have Ag5 (if you happen to have S5), and can use Dodge as normal.

You choose to use BT after the event, so if you roll a 6 you can dodge again as if with Ag5. Hurrah!

CRP wrote:Many players have skills such as Catch, Pass etc. Unless stated otherwise in the skill description you never have to use a skill just because the player’s got it, and you can choose to use a skill that affects a dice roll after rolling the dice. For example, you could say you were going to use the Catch skill either before or after making a catch D6 roll.

Break Tackle (Strength)
The player may use his Strength instead of his Agility when making a Dodge roll. For example, a player with Strength 4 and Agility 2 would count as having an Agility of 4 when making a Dodge roll. This skill may only be used once per turn.

Dodge (Agility)
A player with the Dodge skill is adept at slipping away from opponents, and is allowed to re-roll the D6 if he fails to dodge out of any of an opposing player’s tackle zones. However, the player may only re-roll one failed Dodge roll per turn. In addition, the Dodge skill, if used, affects the results rolled on the Block dice, as explained in the Blocking rules (see page 10.)
If you can decide to use a skill AFTER rolling the dice, I'd say you roll for dodge on an unaltered AG.
If this roll fails, you can now choose to use Break Tackle (only recommended when it makes your roll successful) or Dodge (i.e. if you rolled a one that always fails) and then use Break Tackle on the second roll if it fails but again, only makes sense when it changes the outcome.

I'm no pro but that is how I understand the rules.

Yep. Like diving tackle in reverse - check the result, choose whether to use the skill (and therefore apply modifier).

That, sadly, is what is going to happen everytime he uses it! Image

Still an improvement over "1, grimace a bit, reroll, 4 on the loner, grin, 1".

Hence the improvement, ie no Loner-Roll

Why so negative, Blitz action dodge away-5(silence),move move, cagebreak dodge-1,"dodge skill", 3 "break tackel"- 2d-block (arrow, pow).

Ah, I would always state that I wasn't using BT on the first dodge (after I saw the 5), just to avoid confusion.
