BB2016 Stadium Question

This is a question about a team that is already a resident in a stadium that plays in a different stadium and wants to become residents there instead.

Here is the relevant part in Death Zone Season 2:
"A team can only ever have one home stadium -- however, they can cancel the contract at any time (for example, after playing at another stadium they prefer) by spending 50,000 gold pieces to cover the moving costs."

How would you interpret the above? Do you still have to roll to become residents of the new stadium, lose your winnings for that game, AND pay the 50,000gp? Or do you just pay the 50,000gp to switch stadiums? We can see it being interpreted either way, so interested in hearing this community's feedback.

I think they would have to roll for residency on the new stadium and pay the 50k
