Pushback question

Post by mrinprophet »

I'm sure this has been answered before but I couldn't find it. Can I push a player into a square with the ball if there is another unoccupied square is available, or does it have to go to the open square. In my PBEM game I managed to POW a player into the ball, which bounced back to my blitzer, who caught it and ran in for a score. Just thought I'd check to make sure that its legal.

yes you can push a player to a square with the ball in order to make it scatter

A long as its one of the three you are normally allowed to push to, the ball doens't stop you from being able to select that particular square

A square is only classified as "occupied" when a player is in it. The ball itself does not make the square occupied.

Does the 'Pushed Back' player get an attempt to pick up the ball, assuming that that player was only pushed, and not knocked over?

No, only a voluntary entry into the square with the ball allows for a pick-up, being pushed into the ball will just cause it to scatter.
