Thinking about crowd throw-ins

Now, my question. If you throw a pass and it scatters off the pitch but the crowd throws it to one of your players and he catches it, is it a turn over? I'd rule no since the ball never quit moving but it could be argued that, as soon as it crossed the sideline it became a turnover. If it wasn't for that stupid ruling that, as soon as the ball crossed out-of-bounds you quit rolling for the scatter, I wouldn't say so, but now...

What do you all think?

No its not a turnover. If I need to dig out more I will ... but I don't see any reason why it would be a turnover if passed and caught before it comes to rest ... landing in the crowd is not coming to rest.

No it is not a turnover.

LRB ver 2 page 14

TURNOVERS
If the ball isn't caught by a player from the moving
team, a turnover takes place and the moving team's
turn ends. The turnover does not take place until the
ball finally comes to rest. This means that if the ball
misses the target but is still caught by a player from
the moving team, then a turnover does not take place.
The ball could even scatter out of bounds, be thrown
back into an empty square, and as long as it was
caught by a player from the moving team then the
turnover would be avoided!
