Vampires

I have a small doubt with the rules for the vampire lord in the 2003 Annual (page 11 for the ones who have it).
They say "you may put your coach on the field as you would a normal freebooter. The freebooter fee represents the amount of gold paid to the ref to allow the coach to take the pitch"
Can you put him on the field as a normal player (after all you bought him for 180.000 GP) or do you have to freeboot him each time and pay 90.000 or is it something else?
Also they say the vampire lord can regenerate during the match normally and always return (from the grave is necessary!) to lead his minions in battle once again.
Does this mean that if you loose him you don't have to buy him again?

For as far as I understood it (don't have the annual at hand right now) you never pay (180,000 GCs) to buy the Vampire Lord since it's your coach and coaches are free, but When/If you want to you can pay 90,000 gcs to let him/her play for one game. This means that effectively you "Freeboot" him (same mechanic, different name).
If your head coach gets killed or injured in this way, he always regenerates in time for the next match when he can again be "freebooted" for another 90,000 gcs to play one match.

Then why do they list him on the Vampire players roster as a normal player without spacial mention for the freebooting rule?
They should mention him as a star player then...

I'll have to check...
Maybe somebody else can answer this question better today, else I'll try to remember having an answer tomorrow...

Because they are a bunch of ejuts.
That caught me out too.
They ought to just get rid of the Lord and say Vampire teams have access to Count Luthor.

Thanks a lot...
Too bad you can't buy him...
Gonna try them tonight so I wanted to make sure I understood the rules correctly.

I could have known that was the answer.
Thanks; you just saved me some work
By the way, what are ejuts? Or is that one of those censured thingies again (in which case sl should probably replace ej?)

I guess, they just messed it up while revising the rules, as in the rules presented in the BBMag#3 he was on the team roster. And clear rule texts never had been the strenght of BB publications.

Galak stated on another thread that the intent was to take the lord off the roster. You can still freeboot him, but with the problems that causes for arguing fouls, Count Luthor is a better investment for the same stats and price. Of course, if you've got the money you can get both of them...

Skummy statement has it dead on.

Doesn't he have different stats? If so, they probably listed him to make those handy, including price so you'd know what to freeboot him for.
