Leader Trait & Big Guys...

G'day all
We have been playing that a Big Guy cant use Team re-rolls as per the rules;
it says in the description of the Leader trait that the re-roll is treated the same as a Team re-roll.
I have seen people posting here that Big Guys can use Leader re-rolls, what/where is the justification for this & does the Gig Guy THEMSELVES have to have the Leader trait?
(I have an Orc team with an Orge & a couple gobbos, plus a Gobbo team with 2 trolls, so I'd like to get this sorted out, maybe there is a faq I havent seen
somewhere?)

Not true...it says it is USED exactly the same as a Team Reroll, but it is different. Big Guys may not use Team Rerolls. But it's not a Team Reroll, it's a Leader Reroll.

Totally different but the same.

The only justification is the Q&A published lately. There is no other justification to be found in the rules, and it's completely stupid. I (and many others) hope they change it back.

I'm with Zombie on this one. I don't think they should be able to use the Leader re roll either. There were a few bad calls on the Q&A.

Yes, although I am always rolling ones with my Big Guys (one troll failed
4 out of the first 6 times once) --- its not something that there was any discussion over as it seemed pretty clear in the rules....
I am the commish, but we are all newbies so we should probably not introduce changes now --- the only things we do differently are allow ties(games take long enough as it is) & also only count caught accurate
passes that did not touch the ground as completions for SPP purposes ----
----- & if you drop the ball (when trying to catch a pass) thats a turnover no matter where it ends up.

I don't see what the big deal is, Leader is a trait now so it's harder to get and you have to pass up another good skill choice to take Leader in the first place. And one reroll per half that a Big Guy can use is not overpowered. And what if the Big Guy himself has the Leader trait? He then wouldn't be able to use his own reroll, which would be rather silly...

Not that silly. On the other hand, i find it silly that a player can use his own leader reroll. A leader is supposed to inspire his teammates, not himself!

You've obviously never seen Roy Keane play. He "insipires" himself, his teammates and even the referee

I'm not explicitely against Leader RR being usable for Big Guys:
You have to use a double skill roll, it's just one per half and the player must be on the pitch. Pro is more dangerous in re-rolling Big Guy actions IMHO.
And usually Leader will be taken by Linemen bc. Positional players won't reject a trait or dodge for example.
Yes, Leader usage for Big guys is an inconsistency in the game rules, but I have no problems giving such a limited RR in exchange for a double.

Sangrall: Big guys can also use Trophy rerolls. It only matters in leagues, but it can be a big help to them.

Question is, of course, whether the guys winning the trophies really need more help...

Well, there seems to be a trophy curse in my league. Teams that win do get the money, the advantage and the trophy reroll, but they also get marked for death by everyone else in the leauge. They take an average of about a 30 point Team Rating drop in the next tournament.

Not from my point of view. I've won 2 out of 4 trophies so far!

In principle!
