Multiple block and frenzy

Post by duff »

I'm wondering wether people think multiple block and frenzy should be allowed to be used at the same time?
And Dauntless?

I assume you couldn't add to the collection being frenzied, but could you "drop" one?

Could be coplicated if one or both have sidestep.

It is already allowed to combine multiple block with dauntless! :-)

It cannot be combined with Frenzy, and IMO that is the right ruling.
Frenzy demands that you follow up (and throw another block if it was a pushback), but that you cannot fulfil, since there are two sqaures into which you must follow up - not possible (unless your player is very schizofraniac or is a greater deadom who can split, hehe).

Well there is some disagreement about that. Some say you can use Multiple Block instead of Frenzy, others say you must use Frenzy so can't use Multiple Block. I'd suggest you house rule it to avoid confusion.

Choose Frenzy or Multi-Block

Post by Athanasius »

Under the new rules, a player is never required to use a Trait or Skill, unless that skill specifically says otherwise. It seems more fitting with the general move towards optional skill and trait use to allow a player to choose between Frenzy or Multiple Block when taking their action. Also, Multiple Block is weak enough as it is, you don't need to make it useless for one of the few players who can use it effectively (Troll Slayers).

I think Frenzy is the exeption to this.. you need to follow up and you need to block again (if you got movement..)

Correct. Frenzu clearly states you have to follow up. Now if you blocked two opponents (using multiple block), you could have two sqaures in which you were to follow up into. That seems quite impossible - and thus Frenzy would not be fulfilled.
I have ruled i arosBB that players with frenzy can never use Multiple Block.

Its quite explicit that you can't use both together - read the description of frenzy.

The question is whether you can use Multiple Block instead of Frenzy.
