Star Players

I have just a post which touched on freebooting star players which has raised a query from myself which I would like clarifying.
The post declared that star players do not have positions therefore a halfling team could have two treemen then hire Deeproot Stronbranch as a freebooter, or a human team could hire Griff, even though they have 4 other blitzers!
Is this correct?

Cool, now what to do, shall I inform the league or just throw on an extra SP in my next game and laugh

I'm not too sure though, I mainly based this answer after remembering some post of Galak in which he described his Halfling team with two Treemen and a Deeproot...
You'd better check what the rulebook says or wait for some more people to answer; don't trust me on this one...

I played against a treeman-treeman-deeproot Halfling team at the BB. Perfectly legal.

Pg. 18, LRB: Position: The Star Player's position: Blitzer, Catcher, Lineman or Thrower. This does not count against any position limits for a team.
So yeah, you could go over the position limit, but only if you use Star Players or That Boy's Got Talent.

I forgot about that boys got talent, so in effect you could get a human team with 5 blitzers plus griff plus zug if they had enough money too freeboot them both and got that boys got talent on the handicap roll?

Or a Khemri team with 4 roster mummies, the star player mummy and a rabid fan mummy.

I agree, it's a little sick.

I thought 4 mummies were scary

I agree very slow, but a human team with 5 normal blitzers and Zug and Griff!
Not Slow, has the power with zug (and possibly an ogre)!

And how exactly do you afford 150k per game?

Put it this way I am seriously considering saving up for our end of season playoffs for my Human team!
