Diving Tackle against Stand Firm?

Post by bitMonkey »

Hi all!

My question is about DT and SF. Lets assume a player with SF attempts to leave the tackle zone of a player with DT. He dodges out, succeeding by one. Then the other player pulls a DT on him, causing the dodge to fail. Question is, where are the two players now? According to SF, the dodging player should return to his starting sqaure, but isn't that square occupied by the player who DT:ed him? It kinda says so in the rules.

Hope you can help clear this up for me.

He would end up in the square he started in. The sf guy would be standing but stuck.

I''d say the same. The guy fails the dodge so stands firm in the square he sterted in

As diving tackle only gives him -2 modifier on the dodge and otherwise its made as usual Stand firm would work as normal meaning he would end up standing in the square he started in.

Plus the player with Diving Tackle always stays in their square, they don't move.

The Diving Tackle guy stays in the same square? Really? According to the rules I've got he's supposed to play dead in the square vacated by the player who tried dodge away. That's where I got confused, since players with Stand Firm, well, stands firm in that square. They don't vacate it. I suppose it would make sense if the SF guy stands firm and the player with Diving Tackle licks the ground in his own square. Just thought it would be nice to hear it from you guys. :)

Thanks!

(Uh, I've got another Q but I think I'll use a new thread)
