Best skill combinations?

I was wondering, which are the best skill combinations there are?

At least...
1 Stand Firm + Guard is a good combination (especially with "blodge")
2 Dodge + block is always very useful
2 Dodge + block + Stand Firm + Guard is quite an unbelievable combination :)

Have you found any combination, which you have found especially useful? Any combinations that have surprised you positively?

Kick+Leader on a Lineman. These two skills you should never give to a positional player. So why not stack those onto a Lineman. Actually the Kick+Leader guy does nothing druring the game but is still important and should be strolling in your backfield in order to avoid getting hurt. :D

Yep.

Piling On + RSF on just about anything.

jump up + piling on - So simple and useful combination. Haven't thought of that. Well, maybe because I am now playing an orc team, and cannot have jump up (except goblins). But still, a very good combination...

Obviously, what is obvious to someone, isn't for all :D

I prefer to give one lineman leader and block, and another lineman kick and block. It keeps the leader alive longer.

Actually, it's so incredibly obviously overpowered that it's the single reason why jump up was made a trait.

Have you ever played this game? Have you been living in a cave for the last 10 years or so?

Other good two skill combos that haven't been mentioned yet:

Leap + Strip ball
Dauntless + Pro
Frenzy + Stand firm
Frenzy + Side step
Diving tackle + Stand firm
Diving tackle + Side step
Prehensile tail + Diving tackle
Pass block + Foul appearance
VLL + Sprint on a gutter runner

There are a lot more. Too many to name in fact!

That's a point, but you go the long route then. But I have to admit that my skaven team has one Lineman with Kick and one with Leader right now, and it complicates play for me to have both stay out of trouble.

Anyway, I wouldn't put any of them on the LOS even if they would have block. After some time you lack Skaven to put on the LOS as GR, Thrower, RO or the Blitzer shouldn't start there.
That's why I proposed to put it on one Linerat. After all you could give him block as his third skill if he survives long enough.

If you are using kicking: Leap+dirty kick (+stripball)

If Not and anyway:

Block + dodge + sidestep :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:
shadowing + tentacles

Not at all. You go the long route, since you have to wait for a lineman to pick up two skills before you have them both. In my case, the first lineman to go up picks up kick, and the first to roll a double picks up leader, so i'll have the two skills before you. Block comes second on both of them. I do the same for dirty player. Dirty player first, block second.

Well, you never mentioned skaven or linerats before! Still, just to get the skills earlier, i'd prefer to do it my way.

Oh, I have. Haven't played with the new rules for long yet, tho.

We played for many many years when the 2nd edition was published years ago, but now I am coming back (from my cage).

...and what's wrong with a cage? :) It's secure, cozy and all mine, mine, mine!
