How do you play DP?

In our league we decide whether to apply it to armour or injury then make the roll. Thing is, we assume that if you add +2 to armour then you don't get to apply the normal +1 you would get for just fouling. What I was wondering is whether this means that if you apply it to injury you DO get to add +1 to armour value as per usual, and then the DP kicks in later.

Any thoughts?

Dirty player is in addition to +1 for fouling (and +1 for each assist) giving a total +3.
And yes, it is a very nasty skill.
The rules stipulates that you may not modify an Armour- or injuryroll with more than one skill, but the +1 for fouling is not a skillmodifyer (skills and traits p 34).

Same as Slup
You get +1 for fouling and additional +2 for DP. This player may add +3 on the armor or +2 on the injury.

we have a special rule for fouling here:
DP is played 2k1.
When you foul, you re only send off on a 6 (no IGMEOY)
but if you re send off, then you will miss the next game=>Red Card.
Same for secret weapons...

I hate it. It means that in a tournament final, the best thing to do strategically is to foul every single turn of the game. Totally destroys what's supposed to be the best game of the season.

I just played one of our league's two coaches that foul (an awful lot)

I rolled 'Under Scrutiny' for my handicap roll
