Actions: Catching, Standing up, and Jump Up

Hi, I'm kinda new, so I've got a few questions. Perhaps these'd belong more on the newbie forum, but eh well.
Once a player has finished his turn he cannot do anything else this Coach's turn, right? If I only moved three squares of movement and arbitrarily ended the player's turn, then realized he'd be better off somewhere else, I'd lose the leftover movement, right?
Is catching the ball an action? Say I throw a pass to a catcher-type, everything goes well and the pass is caught. Is it now immediately the catcher's turn, or can I take another player's turn first? Does a thrower lose the rest of his movement after throwing a pass?
Is standing up from prone an action? I realize it costs three movement to do so, but does doing so start the player's turn?
If so, how does Jump Up change this? If it doesn't cost him any movement to do, can a player stand up and not technically have started his turn yet?
