You fumble if you roll a 1 (before or after mod [LRB 22]).

Then why is the target number for AG6-Players a 1+ and not a 2+?

that is before modification. Say a long bomb would make it 3+.

But also before modification a 1 is a fumble. So target number 1+ can't be right for AG6 it has to be 2+.

two different rules, a 1 is always a fumble. target number for ag 6 players is 1+. always overrides normal.

again a player with ag 6 throwing a long bomb needs a 3+ not a 4+

An AG6 thrower, because of the fumble rules, has no advantages over AG5 when throwing the ball.

However a few leagues play that range modifiers do not effect fumbles in which case it does make a difference.

AG6 player thowing a long bomb(-2 modifier):
rolls 3 (before mod) minus 2 = 1 (after mod)

1 after mod = fumble (LRB 22)
So his target number could never be 1.

The thing is that if you wrote "target number 2" for that AG6 player, how would you differentiate him from the AG5 guy? So, you need to say target number = 1, even though it is technically impossible...
