Inaccurate Passing Question

I've used the search, and reading the older posts figured out a few assumptions.

1. A failed catch is never a turnover on it's own.
2. An accurate bouncing ball catch (by player on throwing team) still gives completion point.
3. Turnover never happens until the ball comes to a complete rest.

Following these assumptions, an innacurate pass that scatters 3 times, hits an empty square, and then bounces to someone on the throwing team would not be a turnover and the turn would continue. Is this correct? Thanks for any help clearing this up for me.

Yep, that's correct, but no SPP's.

Even if that player fails the catch it can end not being a TO... if there is another player next to him....

The section on turnovers under Throwing the Football (page 13 of the handbook and I assume its the same page in LRB) is quite clear about it. Its not a turn over. Even when "the ball scatters out of bounds and is thrown in to an empty square, as long as it was caught by a player from the moving team" (You also 'catch' bouncing balls)
