Pilling on again

Hi, I want to ask again about pilling on. I had heard about new rule, that you can use some skill such as mighty blow, diving tackle after you see what your opponet roll. Is this true?? It is the same with pilling on. For example: I roll 6 on AV roll and the players has AV 7, then I decide to use my pilling on ability to beat his AV???
THX for explaining

This is exactly how it works with the current LRB 2.0. All skills are applied after the dice roll is made.
Expect a change to Piling on within the next month though

Yep use skill after dice for AV.
And other skills mighty blow etc can use this way. Dirty player and mighty blow can decide to have +1 on av or +2 then +1 or +2 on inj depends on which skill used so far (only once per skill per turn)

Determining after the av roll goes for Dirty Player as well as Mighty Blow. But Mighty Blow doesn't work on fouls, as I gathered from the explanation from Juck101. Just in case.

Just a quick thought on Piling on:
I think there were no Lizardmen teams or Chaos Teams playing in the Dutch Open last weekend. This might have had something to do with the considerable downgrade of Piling On. It was certainly too strong like it was, but now it's a skill nobody in his right mind will take.
Maybe it should be changed into a normal Armour re-roll, without the Piling On player going prone. I know this is against the fluff, but I think this change would make PO worth taking again. Not too strong, but at least you won't be placing your players in a dangerous situation anymore.

its still quite useful against low av teams, and i think if there were no drawbacks at all it would once again be overused. i might even consider giving it to EVERYONE first, instead of getting mb and guard, since im getting a free roll with no consequences.

I played against Lizzies...I believe there were two there. I certainly wouldn't hestitate to take lizzies to a tourney under the current rules, I doubt the change to PO will effect their popularity much. You just tend to get oddities in selection at various tournies anyway. But Chaos were few and far between even with the old PO.

I have think about this idea too, that rerolling the armor isn t worth going down, but after thinking of it, an armour reroll without having you players going down would be way too strong .
You always got to take league in consideration, not only tourney. In a league, injuries will affect team in the long term.

Another example of pussification for the sake of leauges.

The only thing I would like to see added to the new piling on is:
Armour re-roll, going prone, at -1 if Stunty, +1 if Big Guy and +0 otherwise.

piling on is still a usable skill, but not for the first skill, first get MB, claw, or RSC. Then pile on.

I do think it's a strange situation though:
Mighty Blow is now a better skill than Piling On, but which one makes you go prone?

I don't see what's so bad about the new PO. It's just that the old one was devastating. With DP nerfed, PO was clearly over-powered. My Mummy PO coach isn't too happy but an armour re-roll seems quite powerful to me. Original PO after the roll is just insane. Who decided that people should decide whether to use skill after they have seen the roll? Makes no sense at all to me.

Well... I would keep the going-prone. But to tone it up a little bit, just allow a piling-on-player to reroll the injury-roll, too, if the reroll wasn´t used to break the AV.
