Raise dead

going by the rules my necromancer can cast a raise dead spell on a dead player. As a player who has regeneration doesn't roll until the next drive can I raise him before he gets a chance to regenerate. Going strictly by the rules I think I can. I can see arguments against this but nothing which can be backed up by the rules

Going strickt by the rules, I don't see why you couldn't either!

That's the way I'd interpret it.
So if you kill a Mummy you can raise him as a zombie - if you remember to cast the spell at the beginning of your next turn - before he gets a chance to regenerate.

I think you can't raise a mummy, since it was already dead. Same goes for wights, skeletons and zombies. Since a ghoul isn't really dead he is raisable. Or are we doing something wrong?

Nowhere in the description of the raise dead spell is mentioned that the dead player must not be undead.
He has just to be of human size.
Remember that wizards can perform their actions only at the beginning of your turn, so only if the dead player could not regenerate until that you can raise him.

IMO. The Player isn't dead/dead until its failed regeneration.

Äh Lofwyr? Regeneration is rolled at the end of the drive. So that is why the question is asked.

Yes, and thats exactly what i wanted to say.
If you kill an opposing player in your turn you have to wait until the beginning of your next turn to raise him, because the necromancer is a wizard and wizards can perform their actions only at the beginning of your turn.
If So there are 2 possibilities:
1) the game goes on as normal and you can raise him before he gets the opportunity to regenerate.
2) If you in this turn or your opponent in his next turn scores a TD or the half ends, the dead player gets the chance to regenerate before you can raise him at the beginning of you next turn (because regeneration time is before a new kickoff).

Necromancer is a *special* wizard, so (just like the halflings' master chef) I don't think you are supposed to use the Raise The Dead Spell at the beginning of your turn. Therefore I think you can only use the spell immediately after the regeneration roll has failed.

the necromancer if I remember it correctly can raise dead at any time...in fact, the dead player gets up and walks off the field mid turn into the undies reserve box....and can be set up on the pitch next drive....

LRB pp 36 Regeneration - "If the player is badly hurt, seriously injured or killed, then they are placed in the Dead and Injured Players box in the Dugout as normal. However before the next kick-off takes place (or at the end of the match if that comes first), a dice is rolled for the player to see if he regenerates."
LRB pp28 Raise Dead "In addition to his abilities as a head coach (see page 17), the Necromancer may cast a Raise the Dead spell once per match. This spell may only be cast if a player from the opposing team is killed during the match. It allows the Necromancer to raise the player from the dead, and add him to the Undead team as a new Zombie player!"
LRB pp27 Casting Spells "Wizards may only cast spells at the start of their own team’s turn, after the Turn marker has been moved but before any player’s perform an action."
A player with regeneration is killed - and placed in the dugout as normal.
Now its the undead team's turn again and he casts Raise Dead converting the player to a zombie.
IMO It doesn't matter whether the killed player still has a regeneration roll to make or not. They are still eligable to be raised.

That's the way I read it as well!
