double for human thrower

Post by Juggernaut »

I just rolled a double after 3rd game for my only thrower in my team. this is his first skill. he is my captain and thus I thought about giving him leader to help my ogre. he is also the most defensive player in my team(he rarely blocks), so i think, he is the best player to give leader.
what do U think?

Strong Arm is the other option.

Strong Arm, I always give my throwers that if i get a double because i use them often to throw the ball (obviously  )
I would have given leader to a lineman or blitzer, but never on a thrower or catcher.

definately strong arm. Check the other thread about SA .. it's the best thing that could happen to you, apart from Ag+1 I guess.

I'd take strong arm to help develp a long passing game. Accurate next and you are throwing long bombs on a 4+. 8)

IMO Leader is a bit of a waste on a thrower (he's a big enough target already)

The other choice is Nerves of Steel and give him dump off next. Then he can (try to) pickup the ball in TZ and chuck it away. With dump off you don't have to worry too much about him getting sacked.

Leader is for Linemen only. Seems anti-fluffwise but you have to make the best use of your positional players individual skills and skills like Kick or Leader just prevents them to do best what they are suposed to do.

Nerves of Steel, and then Dump Off.

Strong Arm is boring.
(OK, so SA is good...but I like the idea of NoS)

Thadrin said "Nerves of Steel" yeah nice idea. Personaly my thrower first had accurate, then got to choose. i decided dodge to keep him upright (with sure hands combo vs blitz) and used it a lot to dodge out and throw from pressure. With block next skill (do you have it already?) b-lodge very good mixed player -thrower/runner and perfect for human mixed play

thanx to everyone, but I already took Leader.
No, no, no I’m just kidding - of course I took Strong Arm :)
I started to play humans as my second team in the league, after my CD’s built up really nice, but I like H’s more and more. They are really fast and they can score a lot of TD’s.

It's kinda cool to imagine your team captain to have leader, but there are so many other good skill/trait choices! I spent hours debating to myself whether I should give my captain(a blitzer) as his second skill choice (he got dodge first) Leader, or Stand Firm. I was so set on leader that I created the leader re-roll counters, but then I realised it was better to give him stand firm. I'll probably give him leader if he gets one more double roll.

Btw, Block, Dodge and Stand Firm Rox!
