Defensive DE skill choice

Post by Rupert »

My team consist of

9 lineelves - they are
3 with block, 1 with dodge, 1 with blodge.
Following my current game I have at least 2 new skill rolls on rookie lineelves.

3 blitzers - they are

7448, block, dodge :)
8448, block :D
7348, block, new skill

I play in a pbem challenge league with mixed teams and I would like to develop a team of defensive specialists. Ideas on How I make the most of my st 4 blitzers? Of course some combination of leap, tackle, strip ball, pass block, shadowing and diving tackle would be the end goal but what would be the best developing path.

thanks,
Rupert

I'd say Kick for one of the line elves, maybe Dirty Player on the other or just another Dodge.

For the blitzers I'd take Tackle on the normal one.

The S4 development as defensive specialists Strip Ball looks good for one of them 1st (probably the dodger) with Leap on the other.

Tackle and Stripball on a blitzer works well. Stripball and leap on a blitzer also works well.

Pass Block on some linemen work. As well as some scattering of DP, simply to force your opponent to be more conservative.

Kick, alone, is a really good defensive skill for a DE team.

Shadowing and Tackle, on a Blitzer, works really well.

But for the most part, just having a lot of Block and Dodge really works wonders. Keeps your guys on thier feet no matter what side of the ball you are on, and keeping guys on thier feet makes for a tough D.
