Catch, NOS, Dodge and double

Post by Dave »

on a lion warrior ..

something funny like dump off ??
Or jump up
or perhaps discard for block
or leader (tho I'd rather give that to a lino)

That is a tough one as all are good choices. Depends on what the rest of the team looks like.

He'll have to gain about 20 SPP for the next skill roll, so that might take some time.

Dump off seems a good choice if you have other players with NOS who can recieve, but if not then it might be a gamble sometimes even with elf AG.

Jump up would make this guy very hard to stop from reaching the end zone but that would mean that you would have to make longer passes.

Block would be great at keeping him on his feet.

Anyway, I would probably go with Dump off.

A lot depends on the rest of the team.

I like giving out skills that help me turn over. I'm also a big fan of Dauntless & Guard to help out against strength teams.

Guard isn't a bad choice on his guy as he's a highly mobile assist - and it makes it easier to clear TZ off him when you need to blitz him free to score.

Dump Off will make him a nightmare to play against on defence - but I doubt you have too much trouble scoring anyway.

I largely agree.

Dump off is not really necessary, is it? When the Lion gets the ball he is bound to score anyway.

I'd go guard. Its a great combination with NoS and is usefull when not handling the ball, like Ian said.

DumpOff is fun. and good on offense...

Guard is good on Offense and Defense and keeps your Elves alive...less fun though...

I really like jump up.
The lion warriors are so good because of their speed.
And jump up makes sure that you really have that speed.
If you use him as a reciever he can´t be put out of TD-range just by knocking him down, he has to get stunned.

That's some good rolling there... :)

Guard. Never fails to be very useful to you, and very annoying to your opponent...

Jump up is awful tempting...makes him great on O and D even if your opponent puts him on the ground.

I don't really like JumpUp for scoring types i think...
If you want to use him to score, but the opponent puts him down...yes you can still make him score, but you have to walk to the endzone first...this means throwing at an additional -1/-2...and if it fails you have a player that can easily be pushed in the public.
With guard your players won't be put down so easily..

After reading your thread title my first thought was DumpOff...
NoS DumpOff is a match made in heaven...
Especially if you elves can get a NoS DumpOff guy and a NoS Catch Leap guy and run them together for the endzone... almost unstopable.

the lino definatly Guard... 3 guards are 3x better then 2.
