Advice doubles on human blitzer

Post by harald »

First skill for human blitzer is a doubles.

I see too many options:

Dodge
Turn him into a blodger. Really useful to keep him alive and dodge away to get ballcarriers. Useless on high TR play when tackle is average standard.

Stand Firm
Never useless and allows for banzai dodging. Great combo w/ Guard.

Frenzy
Nice to push ppl off the pitch and also to get an extra hit on a ballcarrier w/out wasting a reroll. Nice for catcher-killers when combo-ed w/ tackle next.

Dauntless
Human teams are not very strong and this will be useful to take down opponent ST4 blocker hulks and mummies.

I am very torn between all these options. Please help me decide. All input is greatly appreciated.

I'd take Stand Firm next. If you get another double give him dodge.

I go frenzy, thats seems to have a pyscological effect on most ppl i play and makes them sacred shitless of putting anyone near the sidelines, as well as the benifits of 2 block with your blitzer

StandFirm or Dodge, depends on what roll you want him to have in your team. Dodge is not at all useless at higher teamratings, not everyone can have tackle.

I'd go for Dodge.

Standfirm, its better than dodge at higher tr when your oppos are loaded out on tackle.

However having a blodger at low tr is a big advantage ;)

Frenzy...can put you in trouble.
Dauntless is a nice option if you have some Guards, then he can get stuck in on the line.

Being a number cruncher and like not to roll the dice unnecessarily and keep my turns going for as long as it is possible I will go with the Stand Firm option. Frenzy is tempting but hopefully some more doubles will fall my way as well unless they turn into Stand Firm as well.

Thanks everyone for the responses.

I'd take Stand Firm too, so good with Guard...

I would choose between dodge and stand firm.

Dodge gives your blitzer more options, cause you can dodge out of tacklezones and this makes him being all over the pitch with his MA 7.
It helps him to stay on his feet, when he gets blocked too.

Stand firm is also a nice skill, so he can dodge without the risk of a turnover, that's nice to and it saves him from beeing pushed into the crowd.

I think that either Dodge or Stand Firm are great choices for a Blitzer. Very hard to remove his tackle zone from anyone with Stand Firm. Blodgers however are always good. If you want to use him to score or run the ball I would go with the dodge. If you want a heavy hitter, I would go with Stand Firm.

Neither is a bad choice.

Stand Firm it is.

Dodge can be used as a regular reroll when dodging. The Pow(!) block dice is not worth the never causing a turnover plus the security when banzai dodging as well as on-pitch guarantees.
